The scriptures speak a lot about prayer, and commands us to pray without ceasing. Thessalonians 5:17. Meaning, to always stay in communication with God about everything in our daily lives, through prayer. So, since God knows everything about us, and what we need, even before we ask, Matt. 6:8, then why pray? I’m so glad you asked.
Prayer is our direct communication with God. Jesus disciples asked him to teach them how to pray, and He began with, “Our Father which art in heaven”, Matt. 6:9-11. Of course, every prayer is concluded by making our request in the name of our “Lord Jesus”, John 14:13-14.
Because prayer is so essential to our lives, we are instructed in the scriptures to, pray always, with all prayer, and supplication in the Spirit, Ephesians 6:18.
In the KJV prayer is mentioned 693 times within 614 verses. God sincerely means for us to pray. So, let’s pray, praying with all manner of prayer.
+ Pray to the Father
+ Pray about everything
+ Pray in faith
+ Pray for others as well as your family/yourself
+ Pray as an intercessor
+ Pray earnestly
+ Pray as if you know God is listening (because He is)
+ Pray with expectation
+ Pray together
+ Pray always
Father, we pray together today, for our Nation, that we the people would turn our hearts back to You Lord, in repentance from our wicked ways. That the news media becomes report centers of the lost being, saved/healed/filled, daily. We pray for our governmental leadership both locally and nationally, that godly men and women arise to their place of leadership in this land. We pray for our world, that people of all ethnicities, faith’s, cultures, and backgrounds, would come to know Jesus Christ as the One and only Savior of the world. We pray for your church Lord, that she awakens to her rightful place in You, becoming the evangelizing/discipling/healing center of faith that she has always been called to be. And we pray together for our brothers and sisters in Christ, that their faith fail not, may they not be weary in their well doing, but know they will reap as they continue serving the Lord, may their hunger for the Word of the Living God become their daily Bread. And may you Bless your church, build your church, and daily continue to deliver your church (people) from the evil that is in this world. May your Abundance, Oh God, be abundantly full in the life that you have promised to every believer. For this we give You Thanks and Praise. In Jesus Name, Amen!
